Orion Lagoon

Orion Lagoon is part of the spectacular Robelle Domain parklands in the heart of Springfield Central. The Lagoon features a 600mm deep sculpture pool, beach entry and depth up to 1.5m with depth markers, a 50m swimming area which could be utilised for lap swimming and has access for people with disabilities.

Another treat is the elongated tail separated from the main area by a footbridge for toddlers with a 300mm average depth featuring play areas such as water squirts, stepping stones, concrete beaches, water running over rocks, wading and exploration areas.

Lagoon facilities include:

•  BBQ gallery with 4 tables
•  Umbrellas
•  Seats
•  Lockers
•  Toilets
•  Lagoon Café

Other highlights within the Robelle Domain parklands include the interactive playground, zero-depth water play area with tipping bucket, nightly sound and light show and Robelle Café

Robelle Domain Parkland

At Robelle Domain, expansive green lawns, bike tracks, tree top walks and shady picnic areas are great for all the family. Add to this the massive Orion Lagoon and the Family Water Play area where excited, screaming children are getting dunked by a huge tipping bucket and sprayed with water jets – you know they’re going to sleep well tonight – and parents can keep a watchful eye from the nearby Robelle Café while having a cuppa and sweet treat.

In the evening, the park takes on a different mood with its 9-metre high light tower installations giving a spectacular sound and light show.

The 24ha Robelle Domain parkland is located in the heart of Springfield Central, with more than 11 kilometres of boardwalks, walking and cycle tracks, sports fields and playgrounds. The parkland also features waterfalls, interactive playground, land art pyramids, exhibition gardens and spaces suitable for large community events and gatherings.

The parklands' magnificent towering Ghost Gums have been beautifully preserved to create natural shade areas and a green, healthy environment for city residents and park visitors to enjoy for generations to come.

Riverheart Parkland

A fantastic place to take advantage of the great outdoors, the parklands is situated on a 1.2km stretch of southern bank of the Bremer River, from the Bradfield Bridge to Bob Gamble Park.
At Bob Gamble Park, on the eastern side of the parklands, kids will love the zero-depth water playground, extensive play equipment including a spider web style climbing frame, 25 metre flying fox and the football field sized 'Discovery Forest' which incorporates features including forts, a bridge across a dry creek bed, carved wooden totems and balance beams.
The parklands offer wheelchair and pram friendly boardwalks for walkers, joggers, cyclists and others on the move, and is a great place to discover different vantage points of the river. While there, it’s worth reading the information plaques about the fascinating history of the city that was once slated to be
Queensland’s capital but missed out because the river wasn’t deep or wide enough for shipping.
At night, keep your eyes on the water to see if you can spot the laser projections of our very own river creatures: Ippy, Limey & Stoney.
Car parking is available at the far eastern (Blackall Street) and western (Roseberry Parade) entries to the parklands. Dogs are welcome to accompany their owners if they are on a leash.
